BOSCH DIESEL from Jihlava was founded on 4 January 1993 as a joint venture between the German Robert Bosch company from Stuttgart and the Jihlava-based engineering plant Motorpal. In 1996, the Robert Bosch company became the sole owner of BOSCH DIESEL in Jihlava. The production programme includes automotive technology components for the diesel systems division.
Among other things, the Jihlava plant produces casings for Common Rail pumps on continuous lines. As many as several tens of special fully automatic CNC machines are always working on the lines, processing the casing in question with their related operations. Because the customers – customers of the pumps – demanded a guarantee of the highest possible quality of products, PC stations were installed into individual lines (if the machines were not already equipped with similar technology by the supplier) for collection of information about the course of processing of the casings. The cycle for collection of operational data is controlled by the options open to each machine and in the case of some machines, is performed on-line immediately after performance of an operation. For some machines, it is only possible to collect data in batches according to the options open to the machine. For introduction of unambiguous and transparent evaluation of all available parameters of casings produced, it was necessary to accede to establishment of a system, which is able to fluently read the available information in a mutually compatible format and to save this information into a database for the requirements of further assessment.

After a demanding selection process, Bosch Diesel chose a solution from IT SYSTEMS based on Oracle
Business Intelligence.
The following modules were developed in terms of the solution:
A comprehensive tool, which helps the management and management employees in production to gain an overview of the quality of dispatched goods. It allows them to easily search for all information about a product in arrears, analyse causes and in some cases even prevent them.
