The quartet of South Bohemia manufacturing companies under the joint banner of MOTOR JIKOV used to use various systems. With deployment of Microsoft Dynamics AX, the whole MOTOR JIKOV Group started to use a uniform business information system. This provided the company with several advantages – ranging from cost savings to more efficient management of production.
The aim of the project was deployment of a Dynamics AX business information system in all of the MOTOR JIKOV Group manufacturing companies with various types of manufacturing – custom, mass, running and project-based – in terms of one application. The aim was to create only one application for all of the companies with central data, to consolidate processes and data structures. Apart from this, MOTOR JIKOV Group wanted to expand the business information system to include processes not supported until then.

Successful introduction of the system was aided by the modern architecture and technologically advanced nature of Dynamics AX as well as the wide range of experience of the consultants in IT SYSTEMS a.s. The business information system was deployed in the fields of economics, assets, in-house savings bank, logistics, warehouse management, manufacturing, delivery of production with the aid of a barcode, quality, metrology and iProcurement.
From the very start of implementation, an emphasis was placed on integration of processes and data structures in terms of companies in the holding. On the contrary, in certain areas different methods of support for processes had to be chosen due to the different nature of the given company. However, these circumstances had no impact on retention of one application for all of the companies in the holding. Once implementation of Microsoft Dynamics AX ended, companies in the MOTOR JIKOV Group started to utilise the advantages of the integrated system and see the greatest benefits in the following areas:

An upgrade of the information system is currently underway in the Motor Jikov Group from MS Dynamics AX 4.0 to MS Dynamics AX 2009. The project, which is planned until the end of 2012, will above all encroach into the fields of commercial analysis, management of relations with customers, management of projects and the company portal. The aim is overall integration of the business applications into one MS SQL server platform. The data integrator will be the new Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 system, which will ensure data for the newly installed Enterprise portal. The basis for output reports and key indicators will be implementation of business cubes on a separate OLAP server. Actual implementation of reports will then be ensured with the aid of Reporting services, which is a component supplied as standard with the Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 system. Deployment of tools for graphic design of workflow is also planned and deployment of a module for management of projects with a link to service administration. The well-arranged design of the system and faster decision making on all levels of management support deployment of the management of the desktops of individual roles for system users. Through innovation of the information system, Motor Jikov Group also wants to gain the possibility of complete management of the system from web applications, including simple access to analysis tools in the scope of the whole system.
Through deployment of the MS Dynamics AX information system, which I regard as timeless and open to modernisation and innovation, we have at our disposal a highly reliable tool with which we are able to manage all company processes. The system provides us with on-line materials for decision making on all levels of management.
